Hogan Lovells advises NX Football USA LLC in its acquisition of a 50% stake in the Necaxa Soccer Club

Mexico City, 3 June 2021 – Hogan Lovells represented NX Football USA LLC in an investment for a 50% equity interest of Impulsora del Deportivo Necaxa, S.A. de C.V., the company that owns the Necaxa Soccer Club (“Club Necaxa”).
The transaction was approved by the Mexican Football Federation on May 24, 2021. This is a landmark transaction that will likely open the doors to further foreign investment in Liga MX teams.
Hogan Lovells partner Juan Francisco Torres-Landa R. led the transaction along with senior associate José Antonio Noguera. Partner Federico Hernandez, counsel Francisco Palmero and associates Juan Lizardi and Nathalie Huerta also advised on the deal.
The legal advisors to Club Necaxa were Ana María Solórzano (in-house counsel) and Galicia Abogados through partner Humberto Pérez-Rocha and associate Mario Leal.
